Sun-Kissed Glow Claims and UV Exposure

The phrase “sun-kissed” can suggest colour without explaining how it occurred. A lighter or darker shade is not a measurement of product quality, safety or ultraviolet exposure.

Appearance claims need context

A photograph should disclose lighting, cosmetics, baseline complexion and relevant exposure. Without that information, an even glow cannot be attributed to a particular injection.

Less sun is not an authorisation

An advertised reduction in time spent outdoors does not test the injected product. Cancer Research UK says marketed Melanotan products have not been tested for safety, quality or effectiveness.

Keep the UV rule clear

The NHS states that a tan does not protect skin from harmful effects of the sun. Our UV-claims article explains why a pigment mechanism cannot be treated as sunscreen.
