Teeth Whitening Claims: Reading NuSmile Listings
Teeth whitening products are often promoted with striking before-and-after photos. Lighting, stain type, natural tooth colour and the method used all affect the result. A photograph cannot establish a product-wide outcome.
What the listing should disclose
Read the product name, ingredients and instructions as printed on the current pack. Avoid assuming every gel or strip from the same brand has the same formula or expected effect. Claims about enamel protection or no sensitivity need evidence for that formulation.
Whitening is a dental question
The NHS explains the options for teeth whitening and advises discussing it with a dentist. Tooth and gum condition matter, and restorations such as crowns will not whiten like natural teeth.
Compare claims carefully
A “game-changing” or instant-result slogan does not provide a controlled comparison. Keep cosmetic appearance, ingredient statements and clinical advice in separate categories, and seek professional advice for suitability.
